Basal cell carcinoma (BCC)

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is a form of skin cancer that appears in the form of abnormal skin growths that resemble sores, red patches, scars, and bumps.

It is caused by overexposure to UV rays, causing uncontrolled growth of basal cells, which line the epidermis (top layer of skin). BCC typically remains on the same area of the skin.

A few treatment options include surgery excision, cryosurgery, radiation, and topical medication.
